Grateful to my caregiver Friend who gave this big calendar for me. Tearing the calendar is an activity that my mother will do every morning. This not only reminded her what is the day (whether it is a Sunday, Saturday) and also the date (whether it is 26 February).
My husband recently reminded me to write down the birthdays of all the family members onto the calendar and special events so that she will see the information on her calendar. This will keep her oriented and also help her with her Mini-Mental Examination State (MMSE) when she has to answer the questions on "what day is today?"
It is through the simple things that I take joy in. Grateful that she can continue to engage in this simple task. What activities can you encourage your loved ones to take part in at home? Try it today. Let us be thriving caregivers.
