My Mother’s love

sarahlhn

My mother gave me a key chain with a bell, words “I love u”

I am not a person who likes to hang keychain on my bag. However, in appreciation of her love, I hang it on my work bag. Each time I carry my work bag, the bell tingles and it reminded me of her.

I told her this morning that the bell reminded me of her, she laughed. It cheers her up to be appreciated.

Now that she is less aware of her surroundings and our feelings, yet our goal is not for her to understand our burdens but for her to live happy, a good quality of life. To continue to eat well, walk to her favourite coffee shop and bathe on her own.

To see the smile on her face is like when I held my new born and witnessed her first smiles and words.

I love you Mother and I hope that there is no regret in caregiving journey. The joy, sweat, blood and tears -all part of this caregiving. Thriving caregivers, press on, give thanks for little things.
