Caregiver’s 30 Days of Caregiving: Day 19

sarahlhn

Chances upon this 🌈 during my morning walk.

For some, it is a reminder of sun coming after some showers. For me, it is a promise that my Heavenly Father holds my right hand in this caregiving journey. That I am not alone.

I quote the famous conversations between Gandalf and Frodo in Lord of the Rings.

I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

I wished my mother need not have dementia. I wished my family member is well and need not go for surgery.

Yet, it is not for me to decide. I just have to decide what to do with this time, a second chance to live, our attitudes towards impending storm or crisises that are to come.

That after the storm, the rainbow will appear. That the peace and calm will follow soon.

Let us be brave in our caregiving journey.

Thriving caregivers.
